Using Markaz Ilm
Markaz Ilm provides free Islamic tools for personal use. By using the app you agree to these terms.
Prayer times and Qibla
Prayer times are calculated using standard astronomical methods and the settings you choose. They may differ by a few minutes from your local masjid's timetable. For congregational prayers, please follow your masjid. The Qibla direction is calculated from your location; compass readings on phones can be affected by magnets and metal.
Hijri dates and Islamic events
Hijri dates are based on the Umm al-Qura calendar with an optional adjustment. Islamic months begin with the sighting of the new moon, so actual dates may differ by a day. Please follow your local moon-sighting committee.
Mosque finder
Masjid information comes from OpenStreetMap contributors and may be incomplete or out of date. Please confirm details such as Jumu'ah timings with the masjid.
Duas
Duas are provided with their sources. Translations are simplified for understanding.
Zakat calculator
The Zakat calculator gives an estimate based on the figures you enter and common scholarly positions. It is not a fatwa. For your personal situation, please consult a qualified scholar.
Availability
We aim to keep the app available and accurate, but it is provided “as is” without warranties. Features may change as Markaz Ilm grows.
